What is Mental
Health First Aid?

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an evidence-based, 8-hour certification course that teaches individuals how to identify, understand, and respond to mental health or substance use challenges. Much like traditional First Aid helps with physical emergencies, MHFA equips participants to support someone facing a mental health crisis.

Training

Participants learn to recognize signs of mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and more.

  • 8-hour certification (in one day
    or two 4-hour sessions)

  • In-person or virtual delivery

  • Offered in English & Spanish

  • Activities, discussions, and
    practical tools
